Dia Mirza Slams BCCI for Not Shifting Venue of India vs Bangladesh 1st T20I Despite Delhi’s Deteriorating Air Quality
Delhi’s air quality deteriorated more after Diwali and is worsening rapidly. Before Dia Mirza, several environmentalists also urged BCCI to shift the venue. However, it couldn’t happen. Mirza, who was last seen in a web series called ‘Kaafir’, is also a social worker and has spoken on the environmental problems on many previous occasions.
Indian actress Dia Mirza has slammed BCCI for going ahead with the 1st India vs Bangladesh T20I in Delhi despite the city’s unfavourable atmosphere. Mirza took Twitter to express her anger over the clash in Delhi. The actress said that the Air quality index (AQI) of Delhi (412) is a severe problem and the first T20I should not be held in the nation’s capital. In recent times, Delhi’s air quality has got worsen and many were expecting that BCCI will shift the venue. “It is baffling that the BCCI has decided to go ahead with the T20 match despite the AQI’s severe 412! This complete denial of the hazards of exposing ourselves to pollution is what cripples our ability to seek and implement swift solutions. #MyRightToBreathe #BreatheLife” wrote the actress on the social media website. The first encounter is scheduled to be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on November 3. Almost two years ago, the Sri Lankan cricketers were seen wearing masks in the third Test of the 2017 series. However, India’s stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma, who participated in that match claimed that the Indian team didn’t face any issues in that encounter and also has no issue in going ahead in the upcoming game too.
