Indian pacer Deepak Chahar sustained a lower-back injury during the 2nd India vs West Indies ODI in Visakhapatnam and has been ruled out of the third and deciding encounter of the series in Cuttack. Navdeep Saini has been named as a replacement for the right-arm bowler and will join the Men in Blue for the final clash of the series. Saini has not played a 50-over International match till now and this thus will be making his ODI debut if given a chance in the playing XI. Chahar played both the ODI of the ongoing series but wasn’t able to leave any sort of significant mark. Selectors have selected Saini ahead of Khaleel Ahmed who has been part of the T20I team in India’s last two series. Now, it will be interesting to see whether the team management will go with Yuzvendra Chahal, who warmed the benches in the first two encounters or Saini will receive his maiden ODI cap.

Speaking of the series, the three-match tie is perfectly poised at 1-1 after the first two matches and a lot will be in stakes in the decider.
