CSK vs MI Video Highlights, IPL 2018: Rohit Sharma Guides Mumbai Indians to Comprehensive win Over Chennai Super Kings

Mumbai Indians registered their second win of the IPL 2018 after defeating Chennai Super Kings by eight wickets. Skipper Rohit Sharma scored unbeaten 56 off 33 balls as MI chased down the target of 170 in 19.4 overs. The win now takes MI to sixth place on the IPL 2018 points table while CSK continues to occupy the top spot. Interestingly, this was CSK’s only second defeat of the season.

Mumbai got off to a cautious start with openers Even Lewis and Surkyakumar Yadav 69 runs for the first wicket. The duo mixed caution with aggression and made sure MI doesn’t lose wickets upfront. Lewis then added 59-run stand with the skipper to take the defending champions closer towards the target. Lewis, who scored 47, then fell to the bowling off Dwayne Bravo in the 17th over. Earlier, put to bat CSK lost opener, Shane Watson, early but Ambati Rayudu and Suresh Raina added 71 runs for the second wicket. Super Kings looked set for a big total, however, disciplined bowling by MI kept things tight. CSK despite scoring 91 runs in the first ten overs, managed to score only just 78 runs for the loss four wickets in the last ten.

For Mumbai, Mitchell McClenaghan was the pick of the bowlers as he returned figures of 2/26 in his four overs. Jasprit Bumrah (0/25) was also impressive though he failed to pick a wicket.

CSK now take on Delhi Daredevils on April 30 in Pune while Mumbai faces Kings XI Punjab on May 04 in Indore.
