Post this, Las Vega police who is investigating the rape case, has issued a warrant for a DNA sample from Cristiano Ronaldo. The football star’s lawyer, Peter S. Christiansen, told BBC Sport it was a "very standard request". Juventus forward has always denied raping the woman. The lawyer stated that it wouldn’t be surprising to find the football star’s DNA as the sex between them was consensual. “Mr Ronaldo has always maintained, as he does today, that what occurred in Las Vegas in 2009 was consensual in nature, so it is not surprising that DNA would be present, nor that the police would make this very standard request as part of their investigation," said Christiansen's statement. Kathryn filed a case against the footballer in September 2018 and said that Ronaldo tried to buy her silence for $375,000. Ronaldo denied the allegations in a statement on Twitter shortly after the lawsuit was filed. "I firmly deny the accusations being issued against me," the tweet read. "Rape is an abominable crime that goes against everything that I am and believe in. Keen as I may be to clear my name, I refuse to feed the media spectacle created by people seeking to promote themselves at my expense." Juventus extended their full support for the footballer.
