After the league stage of Caribbean Premier League 2018 or CPL 2018, four teams have made it to the playoffs. Trinbago Knight Riders, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Tallahwahs and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots are teams who qualified for the next stage. This is the sixth season of the league, which apparently was started in 2013. In the first round of CPL T20 2018, each team will place a total of ten matches. And will take on other teams twice. The top four teams out of six will then proceed to playoffs. In the playoffs, top two teams on the CPL 2018 points table will face off in the first Qualifier. The winner of Qualifier 1 will move to finals directly. The third and second placed teams will take on each other in the Eliminator. In case teams finish with the same number of victories, then the side with better run rate will proceed to playoffs. The winning team will get two points and in case there is no result possible, the points will get divided. If a match ends in a tie, the team winning the Super Over will be awarded two points.

Trinbago Knight Riders, co-owned by Shah Rukh Khan, are the defending champions. Knight Riders defeated St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the final of CPL 2017 to lift their second title. Previously Knight Riders, known as Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel, emerged victorious in 2015 edition. Jamaica Tallawahs have won CPL twice as well.
