India swells with pride as the shooting team comprising Heena Sindhu, Shreyasi Singh, Om Mitharval and Sachin Chaudhary bagged medals for India at the Commonwealth Games 2018.  With this Indian’s medal tally reaches 24. Social media is full of praises for the Indian sportsmen for the feat they achieved at the Gold Coast earlier today.

Joining the bandwagon is Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar who put out a tweet hailing the victories of the shooters. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Congratulations, #HeenaSindhu & #ShreyasiSingh for winning a Gold Medal in your respective events. Also, congratulations to #OmMitharval, #SachinChaudhary & #Ankur for winning a bronze medal in your respective events. Your passion for sports is truly admirable & inspiring.#GC2018.”

Shreyasi Singh won the women’s double trap gold, edging out Australia’s Emma Cox in a shoot-off. Ankur Mittal won bronze in the men’s double trap final. Earlier in the day, Om Prakash Mithraval had won bronze in the men’s 50m pistol final.

Apart from the shooters, Indian boxers have also shown a lot of determination and hunger for medals at CWG 2018. Indian boxing legend MC Mary Kom advanced to 48kg category finals to assure the team a silver, something she is most likely like to turn into gold. Gaurav Solanki (52kg) and world bronze-medallist Vikas Krishan (75kg) also made to semi-finals assuring India of medals. Earlier on day 6, five boxers Manoj Kumar (69kg), Satish Kumar (91kg), Amit Panghal (49kg), Mohammed Hussamuddin (56kg) and Naman Tanwar (91kg) have assured India of medals by moving to the semi-finals. Great work India.
