Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has termed a report baseless which stated that Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) asked Indian skipper Virat Kohli to conduct himself with humility in view of the recent ‘leave India’ controversy. In a press release, the cricket board said it was a false statement made by a Mumbai based tabloid. The report was picked by various media houses. “There has been a report in the media by a Mumbai based tabloid dated November 17, 2018 with the headline “Be Humble: Virat Kohli gets a CoA memo”. The report stated that India Captain Virat Kohli has been sent a memo by the CoA to conduct himself with “humility”. Contrary to the media report, the BCCI after consulting with the team management would like to rubbish the report and classify it as baseless,” read BCCI’s statement.

Last week, Kohli stirred a controversy when he suggested a cricket fan from India to leave the country if he did not like to watch Indian batsmen. Kohli’s suggestion came after the fan wrote on Kohli’s official app that he prefers to watch English and Australian batsmen more than their India counterparts.
