Poor umpiring standards have always been a matter of debate during all the cricketing tournaments. This time it was the Universe Boss- Chris Gayle who was adjudged as out due to poor umpiring stands after surviving a couple of DRS calls during the CWC 2019 match against Australia. This created quite a lot of stir on social media as the fan slammed the poor umpiring standards as the umpires were unable to spot a no-ball. The Universe Boss was adjudged as out on the delivery which was not even legal.  The incident happened when Pacer Mitchell Starc was handling the bowling duties and team Australia appealed for that on as it appeared to have nicked it to the keeper. Umpire Chris Gaffaney adjudged him as out and the Universe Boss immediately challenged the decision. As per DRS, Gayle had not even touched the ball and Gaffaney was forced to change the decision. In the same over, Gayle survived another review which was initially declared as out. The third time, DRS displayed that the ball was clipping leg-stump and the Universe Boss was sent packing on LBW. Technically, the delivery was not a legal delivery as the previous ball was a no-ball.

This surely did not go down well with the netizens as according to social media users the previous delivery was a no-ball which the umpires were unable to spot.  So which means, Chris Gayle’s dismissal was futile. Australia vs West Indies Live Cricket Score 10th ODI Match.
