Gayle capped off the series against England with yet another thumping effort. During his 27-ball 77, the left-hander scored fastest fifty for Windies in ODIs. Gayle completed his half-century off just 19 balls as Windies were set a paltry target of 114 runs. During his knock, Gayle slammed five fours and nine sixes.
It was Mark Wood who dismissed Gayle, but the Jamaican had already done the damage. Windies eventually completed the chase and emerged victorious by seven wickets. Batting first England were bundled out in 28.1 overs with Oshane Thomas scalping career-best 5/21. Alex Hales and Jos Buttler were the top-scorers for England 23 runs each. Interestingly, England lost their last five wickets for just two runs.
The two sides will now face-off in the three-match T20 International series, which starts on March 06. Windies have already clinched the three-match Test series 2-1.
