Chris Gayle hit a blistering knock of 123 runs against UAE in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers’ match at Harare on March 6, 2018. Known for his aggressive style of play, Gayle has now hit a century at least against 11 countries in the One Day International (ODI) format. With this knock, the explosive West Indies batsman registered his name in the record books, next to Sachin Tendulkar and Hashim Amla.
Gayle’s batting prowess is world known. He has flayed bowling attacks around the globe. His recent record of scoring an ODI century against every 11 nations is a testimony to it. He has now hit centuries against Kenya, India, Zimbabwe, South Africa, England, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Canada, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and UAE.

One of the most revered batsmen of the modern era, Gayle’s innings of 123 runs came off 91 balls only, in which he hit 7 fours, and 11 sixes. Riding high on Gayle’s century and Shimron Hetmyer maiden ODI hundred, the Windies team post a mammoth total of 357 runs on the board. The UAE team couldn’t chase the target as they eventually lost the match by 60 runs.
