The two-time purple cap holder (awarded to the bowler with most wickets in an edition) has been an integral part of Chennai Super Kings squad, which lifted the IPL trophy thrice. The Chennai crowd especially loves Dwayne Bravo's dance-celebration, which he does after getting a wicket. With several runs and wickets against his name, Bravo has played a crucial role for the West Indies side that won the ICC World T20 in 2012 and 2016. Bravo has even led West Indies in the past but due to some conflicts and financial disputes with the Cricket West Indies (CWI) board, he refused to play for the team. Bravo last played for West Indies way back in 2016 and eventually retired in October 2018.
In the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, the West Indies team has had a poor outing. With just one win and five defeats, Windies are out of the competition. The presence of Bravo might have made a difference as he has been a veteran of the game with a decent ODI record. Nevertheless, he is expected to continue playing IPL and will want to guide CSK to their 4th IPL title next season.
