Captain Virat Kohli and Coach Ravi Shastri to be Questioned by BCCI, Following India's Poor Show at Lord's Test
India, having lost both the tests, are 2-0 down in the five match series already.
London, August 13: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), following team India's humiliating defeat at Lord's Cricket Ground in the second test match against England, is set to question team captain Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri over team's poor performance in the ongoing England series. India, having lost both the tests, are 2-0 down in the five match series.
In both the innings at Lord’s, Indian batsmen failed miserably. In the first innings, James Anderson scalped five wickets to bowl out India for just 107 runs. The story did not change in the second innings either. Anderson along with Stuart Broad destroyed the Indian batting line-up, picking up four wickets each. The visitors were bowled out for 130 and India lost the Lord’s Test by an innings and 159 runs.
Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag also criticised team India following their shambolic defeat against England at the Lord’s Cricket Ground. Sehwag took to Twitter and called India’s performance as ‘very poor’. He also said that the Virat Kohli and the team showed no tendency to fight and that it is hard to see the team falling without a fight.
Kohli, after the match, cited workload pressure for his lower back trouble, which also cropped up during the match. When asked about the lower back issue, Kohli said: “Five days to go (for the third Test), should be okay. Lower back issue coming up again and again, purely because of the workload. Confident I'll be fine in five days time.” India vs England 2nd Test 2018 Video Highlights: James Anderson, Stuart Broad Help ENG Take 2-0 Lead.
