Can Kieran Powell Retain His Record of Second Most Sixes in 2018; Ravindra Jadeja to Give a Tough Challenge in Second Test Match

Ravindra Jadeja in the first test against West Indies at the Saurashtra Cricket Association, Rajkot hit a maiden century. Jadeja scored his first 100 hitting five fours and five sixes and thus became the second highest six hitters in tests in 2018. In four innings, the all-rounder hit 7 sixes. As India declared their innings on 649 runs, the West Indies batsmen showed a little fighting spirit.  Kieran Powell who got out on 1 in the first innings made 83 runs scoring eight fours and four sixes. Powell thereby overtook Jadeja to become the second most six-hitter in Tests in 2018. Most Sixes in Test Cricket 2018: Rishabh Pant Holds The Record of Hitting Maximum This Year Followed By Ravindra Jadeja!

So far in 11 innings, the West Indian has hit eight sixes. Which means, Jadeja just needs a couple of sixes to be the second highest and 3 sixes to equal Rishabh Pant’s record of getting the maximum sixes in Tests 2018. It would be interesting to see if Jadeja surpasses Powell or Pant’s record in the second test match in Hyderabad. So far in seven innings, Rishabh Pant has hit 28 fours and 10 sixes in 2018. Kusal Mendis comes on number four with seven sixes from 13 innings. Whereas Jos Butler is on number four with seven sixes from 12 innings.

Talking about the second test match between India and West Indies will start tomorrow in Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi Uppal Stadium. The playing eleven for the match has remained the same and Mayank Agarwal has not found a place in the 12-man squad. Ahead of the match, Virat Kohli announced the squad for the second test and the team has remained unchanged.
