Brian Lara was recently seen giving commentary for matches in Indian Premier League (IPL), 2019. Since past few days, he was also seen in pre-match shows of World Cup matches on Star Sports channel. We hope that Lara gets well soon, as the hospital will soon release a statement on his health. Brian Lara is in Mumbai these days to attend events and he was admitted today (June 25, 2019) afternoon due to discomfort in his chest. Brian Lara is from Trinidad and has many accolades to his name in International Cricket. He holds the record for the highest individual run in first-class cricket where he scored an unbeaten 501 runs while playing for Warwickshire against Durham at Edgbaston in 1994. Lara also holds the record for the highest individual score in a Test innings after scoring 400 not out against England at Antigua in 2004.

Brian Lara's match-winning performance of 153 not out against Aussies in Bridgetown, Barbados in the year 1999 has been rated by Wisden as the second best batting performance in the history of Test cricket. As Sir Donald Bradman inning of 270 runs in The Ashes Test match of 1937 is considered the best by Wisden. Brian Lara has played 131 Test Matches and 299 ODIs where he has scored 11,953 runs and 10,405 runs respectively.
