David Warner, on Friday, was appointed as the captain of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchise, Sylhet Sixers, for the 2019 season. While talking to the reporters in Dhaka, the banned Australian batsman said that the time spent on the sidelines, after his involvement in the ball-tampering episode, has helped him ‘grow as a human being’.

The explosive Australian opener said, “Life has been good for me. I have been spending time with the family. I wouldn't be able to do that if I wasn't sitting in the sidelines. It is about getting the best out of myself and growing as a human being. My most important thing was being a father and husband at home.” BPL 2019 Live Streaming: Watch Free Telecast of Bangladesh Premier League T20 on TV and Online in India.

Speaking about his comeback in cricket and participation in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2019, David Warner said, “Now it is down to playing cricket again and making sure I get Sylhet Sixers on top of the table.”

Warner was suspended by Cricket Australia, after his role as an instigator came to the fore in the disgraceful ball-tampering scandal that came to the fore in March last year. The suspension also cost him his Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 contract, in which he was set to captain the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise. BPL 2019 Schedule in PDF: Download Bangladesh Premier League 6 Full Timetable With Fixtures, Matches, Team and Venue Details.

However, the suspended Aussie batsman returned to grade cricket last year and has grabbed every opportunity to play that has come in his way, in the period of his suspension. Warner was also a participant in the Global T20 tournament in Canada, and Caribbean Premier League last year, but his performances weren’t as impressive.

Commenting on whether he will be a part of the Australian team for ICC World Cup 2019 or not, Warner said, “It is up to the selectors whether or not they want to pick me," he said. "At the end of the day, all I can do is score runs in this tournament and the IPL, keep putting my hand up and making sure that I am the best person I can be.” David Warner to Become Father for the Third Time, Wife Candice Reveals Good News About Baby on Instagram: View Pictures.

The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is set to begin from January 5, i.e. Saturday, and the final of the T20 tournament is scheduled to be played on February 8. If David Warner strikes form in the 2019 BPL season, and continues the same in the IPL 2019 season, the flamboyant left-handed batsman will boost his chances to be a part of the Australian side, which is clearly struggling at the moment.
