But it looks like Ben Stokes might have a competition now.
However, this competitor of Stokes comes not from another team, but from across the boundary line. The ICC shared the video with a funny caption saying, "Looks like @benstokes38 has some competition for incredible catches in the deep! 👏 to this multi-talented #CWC19 photographer!" Not just ICC, but fans too applauded the cameramen's fielding effort and catch-taking ability from behind the lens. England all-rounder Ben Stokes took an absolute blinder of a catch to dismiss Andile Phehlukwayo off the bowling of Adil Rashid during the inaugural match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 played between England and South Africa. The catch by Stokes was so spectacular that the commentators already termed it as the catch of the tournament, even as this was just the first match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Phehlukwayo was batting on 24 and looking dangerous. Phehlukwayo played a slog sweep off Adil Rashid's first delivery off the 35th over. Stokes, fielding between the deep point and deep backward point, jumped and pulled off a one handed catch that stunned everybody. The crowd gave a thunderous applause for the catch. Stokes said about the catch after the match that, "I had a bit of a panic on, I was a little further in that I should have been, but I've the nickname, "The Claw", and luckily it stuck!"
