The ex-India national cricket team fast bowler, as per several reports, celebrated his 45th birthday on October 7 and several fans were taken aback when the Indian cricket board shared birthday wishes for him on October 8 instead. Wishes poured in for him as he turned 46 a day ago. Former cricketer and Zaheer Khan's teammate Yuvraj Singh also had shared a hilarious wish for the latter on his birthday on October 7. Lucknow Super Giants, the franchise he joined as mentor not very long ago, also wished him on October 7. The former left-arm pacer represented the India national cricket team in 309 international matches across formats where he took 610 wickets. Besides being one of India's best pacers in international cricket in the past, Zaheer Khan also had a great time in the IPL where he played for three teams--Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals (formerly known as Delhi Daredevils) where he took 102 wickets.
The former fast bowler called it quits on his professional career in 2017 and joined the Mumbai Indians, initially as the Director of Cricket and then, as Head of Global Development. Ahead of IPL 2025, he joined the Lucknow Super Giants as mentor.
