For a few days now, Indian's pacer Mohammed Shami was in the news after his wife Hasin Jahan accused him of cheating the country. The BCCI then had withheld his contract. However now, in the recent turn of events, the BCCI found him innocent and said that ‘no further actions/proceedings under the BCCI anti-corruption code are warranted in the matter’.

The board has slotted Shami in B Grade along with KL Rahul, Umesh Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Hardik Pandya, Ishant Sharma and Dinesh Karthik.

In a formal statement, the BCCI said that “the Committee of Administrators (CoA) had requested Mr Neeraj Kumar, former Police Commissioner of Delhi and Head of BCCI Anti-Corruption Unit, to investigate the allegations against Mohd. Shami insofar as they pertain to the provisions of the BCCI Anti-Corruption Code.”

Shami's wife had made a few startling revelations and accused him of match-fixing. She also named a London based man Mohammed bhai who was allegedly hand-in-glove with Shami. However, yesterday Mohammed bhai gave out a statement and said that he knows Shami and his wife Hasin Jahan and met them during their visit to London. Not only this, but he also mentioned that he was the one who took Shami and his wife for sightseeing. However, he denied the claims of match-fixing and said that he never gave money to Shami.

Hasin Jahan also said that Shami stayed in Dubai with a Pakistani girl named Alishba. The claims were confirmed by the BCCI. Alishba confirmed that she met the pacer in Dubai. While talking to one of the news channels, she said, "Yes, I met him. I am a frequent flyer to Dubai because my sister stays in Sharjah. As a person, I really like Shami. As any fan that has idolized a celebrity, they always dream of meeting their idol. I had the desire to meet him (Shami) like any other fan would want to, which I don't think is a big deal."

On the other hand, Shami to prove his innocence even produced his bank statement.

The document showed that he had paid money to his wife. We are sure that Shami is heaving a sigh of relief!
