Hardik Pandya & KL Rahul Controversy: BCCI CEO Rahul Johri Speaks to Suspended Duo
Suspended India players Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul Tuesday gave their statements to BCCI CEO Rahul Johri, initiating the inquiry into their much-condemned comments on women that have split the Committee of Administrators (CoA).
After being suspended from the team for making sexist comments on Koffee With Karan 6, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya today gave their statements to BCCI Ceo Rahul Johri. With this, the inquiry on the matter has begun and the inquiry has led into divided opinion amongst the members of the Committee of Administrators (CoA). An official on the state of anonymity informed the news agency about the development. "He has to just collate whatever they have written in their show cause reply. He is expected to submit his report to CoA by tomorrow," a source told PTI. The source also said that the CEO did not ask questions on if their agents forced them to attend the chat show. "Any investigative question is the purview of the ombudsman. Now the next phase will only happen if the SC appoints an ombudsman or an ad-hoc ombudsman is appointed," the source further informed. The comments on Koffee With Karan led to a severe backlash on both cricketers. While there have been cricketers like Harbhajan Singh who have slammed both Pandya and Rahul for the comments, Sanjay Manjrekar and former Indian cricketer Sreesanth have rendered their support to the suspended duo. Post, his comments on Koffee With Karan 6, Pandya lost Gillette as his sponsor. The Indian all-rounder also lost his honorary membership of Khar Gymkhana today as his sexist comments have irked women of the club.
