Melbourne Renegades’ captain Aaron Finch vented out his frustration on a chair after the right-handed batsman was dismissed during the Big Bash League 2019 final against Melbourne Stars at the Docklands Stadium on Sunday, February 17. Finch was run-out at non-striker’s end on an individual score of 13 and that led to his frustration.
The Renegades captain has been out-of-form throughout this season of BBL and the tournament capped off on a sad note for him. During his ten-ball stay, Finch smashed two fours. Finch was dismissed on the last ball of the sixth over with Renegades score reading 47 for three. Cameron White played a straight shot back towards the bowler. However, the ball ricocheted off bowler Jackson Bird’s shoe and then hit the stumps at the non-striker’s end. TV replays showed Finch was short of the crease and thus was given the marching orders. On his way back to the hutch, Finch smashed a chair which was lying inside the tunnel towards the pavilion.

Put to bat first, Melbourne Renegades ended up scoring 145 for five in their allotted 20 overs. Tom Cooper and Daniel Christian shared 80-run unbeaten partnership for the sixth wicket to guide their side to a decent total. While Cooper scored 43, Christian chipped in with 33. For Melbourne Stars, Jackson Bird and Adam Zampa picked two wickets each. Stars in their chase of 146 were 33 for none in five overs at the time of writing this story.
