That's It! Sri Lanka finish it off in style by hitting a boundary. They were troubled early by Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam's new ball bowling but  Sadeera Samarawickrama and then Charith Asalanka's half-century steadied their ship taking them comfortably over the finishing line. 

Charith Asalanka takes on Mahedi Hasan and removes the little bit of threat that Bangladesh posed to them. He also completes his half-century and hit the first six of the game. 

Out! There it is. Shakib Al Hasan comes back and sniffs a wicket. Bangladesh are now clawing back in their game. Their only chance is by taking wickets and they does exactly that, this time removing Dhananjaya de Silva. 

Out! Bangladesh get the wicket they wanted. Sadeera Samarawickrama charges out trying to take on Mahidy Hasan and just walks past the ball completely missing it. Mushfiqur Rahim does no mistake. Bangladesh will hope as they lost wickets in a heap from similar situation. 

Fifty! Sadeera Samarawickrama steadied Sri Lanka's innings when they were in crisis losing early wickets and now steadily carries them towards the finishing line. Amidst it, he also completed his half-century in just 59 deliveries. 

Sadeera Samarawickrama and Charith Asalanka have stitched a small 47-run partnership and took out Sri Lanka out of the initial troubles. Now they will look to ensure that they get over the line with only 75 runs remaining without any hiccups.

Bangladesh have just tightened their stranglehold on Sri Lanka and didn't let them loose. Shakib Al Hasan coming in to attack and picking the wicket of Kusal Mendis has helped them claw further back into the game. Bangladesh will look to keep on squeezing the middle overs. 

Out! Bangladesh is proving why their pace attack is reputed as lethal. After Taskin, Shoriful Islam strikes dismissing Pathum Nissanka. Bangladesh have now got both the openers of Sri Lanka and now will try to impose the stranglehold. 

Out! Bangladesh get one early breakthrough as Taskin Ahmed swings a fullish delivery through the gates of Dimuth Karunaratne. Bangladesh desperately needed an early wicket and they have got one. 

Out! The 200-run remained a distant dream for the Bangladesh batters as they lost their last four wickets in absolutely no time. Clinical performance from Sri Lankan bowlers, specially Matheesha Pathirana who picked up four wickets. Najmul Hossain Shanto's wicket by Maheesh Theekshana was the key in wrapping up the innings early. 

Bangladesh keep losing wickets in regular intervals. Dunith Wellalage gets his first wicket of Asia Cup 2023 as he traps Mahedi Hasan in front of the wicket. Even a review could not save him. Bangladesh still relying on Najmul Hossain Shanto to reach a competitive score. 

Out! Absolutely not what Bangladesh would want right now. A horrible mix-up between the two batters Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Najmul Hossain Shanto which ends in a run out. Mahedi sacrificed his wicket to keep Shanto safe. Bangladesh still struggling for a competitive total with Shanto as the last hope.

Out! A few minutes ago Sri Lanka missed out on the caught behind opportunity due to not having a review but it doesn't hurt them big as the short partnership of Bangladesh comes to an end. Mushfiqur Rahim tries to cut Pathirana over point, only for it to go straight into the hands of deep point who was a touch finer. 

Bangladesh are trying to find a way out of the early collapse they had. Najmul Hossain Shanto has been excellent till now, completing his half-century. But his job isn't near over as he combines with Mushfiqur Rahim looking to get Bangladesh out of trouble. 

OUT! Dasun Shanaka has struck and broken this partnership between Najmul Hossain Shanto and Towhid Hridoy by dismissing the latter. The right-hander came down the track and was hit on his pads. FIFTY! Najmul Hossain Shanto has scored a fighting fifty here. The left-hander has soaked in the pressure with Bangladesh having lost a heap of wickets up front. A good knock here and he would want to continue and convert it into a big one!

The action has resumed after a very short stoppage due to rain at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Bangladesh need this partnership between Towhid Hridoy and Najmul Hossain Shanto to flourish if they have to come back into this contest. 

OUT! What a catch and what a wicket! Young Matheesha Pathirana has gotten the big scalp of Shakib Al Hasan to put Sri Lanka significantly on top here! The left-hander tried to slash at a wide delivery but could only edge to Kusal Mendis behind the stumps, who pulls off a stunner with one hand! OUT! One more wicket for Sri Lanka and they elated! Dhananjaya de Silva has caused another setback for Bangladesh, getting the wicket of Mohammad Naim. The left-hander tried to play a heave but only ended up edging it high in the air. Pathum Nissanka calmly took a simple catch to complete the dismissal. Bangladesh now have Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mohammad Naim at the crease and both would like to build a partnership to build a strong foundation here. Maheesh Theekshana has been the only wicket-taker so far in these first few overs and Sri Lanka will hope to take few more in the first 10 overs to put pressure on Bangladesh.
