Bangladesh National Cricket Team vs South Africa National Cricket Team Highlights: After being underperforming with their bat on day 1, Proteas made a positive comeback when Kyle Verreynne and Wiaan Mulder built up a strong partnership. Kyle Verreynne smashed a century under pressure and on the other hand, Wiaan Mulder completed a half-century. The partnership between Verreynne and Mulder proved to be important as South Africa got themselves to a fighting total. Dane Piedt also played a knock of 32 runs which was also beneficial for South Africa. At times Bangladesh bowlers had a tired look at their faces as they were unable to take wickets. Hasan Mahmud came to the rescue for the hosts on day 2 as he took a couple of quick wickets which did put Proteas under pressure once again. Aiden Markram-led South Africa were bowled out for 308. As Bangladesh came into bat they also lost a couple of quick wickets. Later Bangladesh skipper was also sent back by Keshav Maharaj. But Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Mushfiqur Rahim kept things going for Bangladesh and as day 2 ended the hosts are still trailing by 101 runs.
It will be an interesting day to watch as South Africa just need seven wickets and they will be able to win the BAN vs SA 1st Test 2024. But Bangladesh can keep the fight on without losing wickets. Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudul Hasan Joy do have to calibre to rescue Bangladesh. The early wrath of the South Africa bowlers will be tough to handle as Kagiso Rabada did manage to work with the pace and bounce present on the surface.
