That is stumps on Day 1! Bad light had initially stopped play before the umpires concluded that it was too dark to continue. South Africa finish Day 1 on top here, with a 34-run lead. At 140/6, the Proteas are ahead of Bangladesh, who after being shot out for just 106 in the first innings, has bounced back remarkably well with the ball. A total of 16 wickets fell on Day 1! Kagiso Rabada earlier became the fastest to 300 Test wickets, in terms of balls taken when he castled Mushfiqur Rahim. Later in the day, it was another bowler who hogged the limelight in the form of Taijul Islam, who clinched his 13th Test fifer and also completed 200 Test wickets, becoming just the second Bangladesh bowler after Shakib Al Hasan to do so. The final session of the day has resumed and Tony de Zorzi along with David Bedingham have resumed proceedings. South Africa are 40 runs behind, a deficit they would ideally want to wipe off in quick time and end the day's play with a substantial lead. Bangladesh meanwhile, continue to look for wickets. 

South Africa, despite having lost two wickets, are on top at tea. They have lost Aiden Markram and Tristan Stubbs but Tony de Zorzi and David Bedingham are out in the middle, holding fort. Bangladesh would want more wickets in the third session and hope to prevent South Africa from gaining a big lead.
