In honour to play tributes to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Bangladesh Cricket Board is all set to host a couple of Asia XI vs World XI T20Is in March 2020. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is the founding father of the country and his birth anniversary is celebrated as a national holiday. Sheikh Mujibur was born on March 17, 1920, and because it is his 100th birth anniversary the BCB has planned these games in the country. Both T20Is will be held in Mirpur at the Shere Bangla Stadium. BCB President Nazmul Hassan also mentioned that the “best current cricketers” will be a part of the mega event. “There will be a matter of availability if they [the players] have international duties,” Hassan said. “I think only two teams will be busy at the time, but they won’t be playing T20s, so we might get their T20 players. We are looking for the best players among the current lot, and because the games will have international status, everyone will be serious about it.” Also, only a couple of teams will be involved with the international matches so availability of the players won’t be an issue.

He also mentioned that all the board have supported the decision and the match will get an international status. “We will have to discount players from teams who will have FTP (Future Tours Program) series at that time. We will make the best possible teams from the available players,” said Nizmul. In 2017, the Pakistani played had played three T20Is against World XI in Lahore to promote international cricket.
