The ACC Asia cup - an International tournament held by the Asian Cricket Council, is a biennial tournament and alternates every two years between ODI and T20I. The winner of this tournament is crowned the Asian Champion. The 2022 Asia Cup is being played in a Twenty20 International format. Bangladesh made their debut in the 1986 Asia Cup which was held in Sri Lanka as a replacement for India after they pulled out of the competition due to strained cricketing relations with Sri Lanka. They have participated in every Asian cup since and this will be their 14th staging at the competition.
