Earlier, England scored 823/7 in their first innings thanks to a 454-run partnership between Harry Brook and Joe Root. Brook scored a record-breaking triple-century while Root scored a double-century. The duo took out Pakistan from the game and put England in the driver's seat. Despite scoring more than 500 runs in the first innings, Pakistan were not able to contain England who scored runs comfortably and quickly and posted a lead of 267 runs infront of them with four sessions still to go in the game. Pakistan's start to the second innings has not been good at all and they will need a miracle to escape defeat here.
