Ahead of the Big Bash League 2019-20 match Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell stopped a bushfire from spreading. The Melbourne Stars’ captain was preparing for the match against Hobart Hurricanes in Launceston when he rushed with an extinguisher to douse the fire. All this was filmed by his teammate and South African import in Stars’ team Dale Steyn. The pacer later shared the video on his Instagram story. In a rain-curtailed match, Melbourne Stars emerged victorious by four runs (DLS method). In 11 overs, Hobart Hurricanes posted 69 for five with Dale Steyn and Nathan Coulter-Nile picking two wickets each. In response, Melbourne Stars reached the target in 7.3 overs with seven wickets in hand. Opener Marcus Stoinis scored 25 while Peter Handscomb and Glenn Maxwell finished unbeaten on 22 and zero. The win was Melbourne Stars’ third out of four matches. The Maxwell-led side is placed second on the BBL 2019-20 points table.
