After a heartbreak in the last ICC World Cup final, the South Africa Women's Team produced a commanding win over the Australia Women's Team in the ICC Women's T20  World Cup 2024. Anneke Bosch scored a half-century and banked on the platform provided by captain Laura Wolvaardt. The pair formed a game wining 96-run partnership.

No one would have expected this, but the South African Women's side dominated all departments of the game defeating Australia by eight wickets. Restricting Australia to 134 and chasing the target in just 17.1 overs hand the side a massive boost going into the final.
