Azam got angry over the incident and his gestures after the dismissal showed his unhappiness. Azam’s gestures were caught on the camera and were shared on social media. Meanwhile, Pakistan lost the match by 7 wickets. Azam (50) hit a half-century in the match before losing his wicket through a run-out. Iftikhar Ahmed played a spectacular quickfire of unbeaten 62 runs off 34 balls to take Pakistan to 150-6 in the first innings. In reply, Australia's Steve Smith played an unbeaten knock of 80 runs to take Australia to a comfortable victory by 7 wickets in 18.3 overs. Australia lead the three-match T20I series 1-0.
