Australia Win By 39 Runs | Australia vs Oman Highlights of ICC T20 World Cup 2024: Marcus Stoinis' All-Round Show Power Kangaroos to Clinical Victory

That's It! Australia recovers well from their poor start early in the day and they secure their first win of the competition. Mitchell Marsh will be thanking Marcus Stoinis for his power-packed innings and the three wickets he picked. Stoinis changed the momentum of the match towards Australia and they didn't let go of it since. Oman will be disappointed as they had things in control for a long time. 

Out! There goes Oman's last hopes. Ayaan Khan fought for long at the crease and launched a short spell of counterattack. But it was not enough as Adam Zampa has been finally able to fox him and short fine leg accepts the catch gladly. Australia on way to their victory.

Out! Another blow for Oman and they are nearing the end soon. First Mitchell Starc dismisses Khalid Kail and then Adam Zampa picks his first of the day dismissing Shoaib Khan. Zampa first had him caught behind which got reversed by the umpire. Two balls later he cleaned Shoaib Khan up scalping his 300th T20 wicket. 

Out! Marcus Stoinis on a roll here. Angles the ball across Zeeshan Maqsood and he tries to go down the order only to get an edge and the Matthew Wade does no mistakes to grab a catch down his left. Oman are in deep deep trouble here and Australia move towards a victory. 

Out! Oman lose their captain. This is a big blow but it has been that kind of day for Marcus Stoinis. Aqib tries to guide his ball towards the backward point but gets an edge while Matthew Wade takes a routine take to complete the catch. Oman are falling apart here and need an inspiration. 

Out! Oman struggles to get a good start as well as they now have lost both their openers within the powerplay with not much runs on the board. Boundaries have been hard to come back and the bowling has also been high quality. Ellis manages to hit Prajapati on the pads and DRS shows umpire's call. Oman have a tough task in hand. 

Australia strike early as Mitchell Starc's inswinging yorker found the pads of Pratik Athavale. Opener Kashyap Prajapati and captain Aqib Ilyas are on the crease and they are looking to give Oman a steady start in a considerably big chase for them. 

Australia will consider themselves out of the jail from where they were at the end of the 13 overs. They have scored 89 runs in the next 7 overs thanks to the power-hitting from Marcus Stoinis and an able support from David Warner. Oman would have been happy if they were chasing something around 140. The current target will need them to be at their absolute best during chasing. 

The partnership has been very good for Australia and threatening enough for Oman. Marcus Stoinis has added the power when David Warner has been keeping the innings together. Now both get a move on and both complete their well-deserved half-centuries. Oman will have to be careful here or the match can slip away. 

After a lot of struggle finally Marcus Stoinis got a hold on Mehran Khan and took him apart for four sixes to finally give the Australian innings some momentum. The first one was a mishit but Aayan Khan failed to complete the catch. Following that Stoinis kept a hold on his shape and got enough to dismiss Mehran for four sixes. Big moment in the game. 

Australia has been struggling with their run scoring rate as Oman has restricted them with their tight bowling. There has been no pace on offer and the pitch has done enough to not make shot playing easy. David Warner used his experience to the fullest and hit two boundaries after a long and silent spell to get the run rate a move on. 

Out! What an over from Mehran Khan. First Mitchell Marsh tries to go big down the ground and gets holed out in the deep. The moment of magic comes next when Glenn Maxwell drives one through the covers. The ball gets a little elevation and Aqib Ilyas takes a blinder to sent Maxwell back to the dugout. Oman are strongly in the game now. 

The innings from Australia hasn't been the most free flowing but David Warner and Mitchell Marsh have done just enough to stitch up a partnership with occasional boundaries. Travis Head was the only one to get dismissed. Oman bowlers have not been erratic till now. 

Out! The pressure was building up and the first goes down for Australia. Travis Head was looking to up the ante and he hits one boundary, the next he strikes straight into the hands of mid-off. Got good connection but no the elevation. Oman has started the bowling with discipline and they have been rewarded.
