Pakistan’s left-arm fast bowler Mohammad Amir scalped a five-wicket haul against Australia at the Taunton County Ground in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 (CWC 2019) match. Pakistan opened to bowl first with overcast conditions but Australia opening pair of David Warner and Aaron Finch did well to put on a century stand. However, Pakistan bowlers fought back towards the end to bowl out Australia for 307 runs. It was Amir’s five-wicket haul that result in Australia batting collapse. At one stage Australia were 223 for two and then lost eight wickets for just 84 runs. And out these eight wickets to fell, Amir picked four. He was stand out bowler in the Pakistan team and returned with figures of 5/30 in his ten overs with two maidens.

New Zealand’s Jimmy Neesham and Australia’s Mitchell Starc have taken the five-wicket hauls as well thus far. Amir’s 5/30 are so far the best bowling figures in this World Cup followed by Neesham’s 5/31 and Starc’s 5/46.
Apart from Amir, Shaheen Afridi picked two wickets but he was expensive and gave away 70 runs in his ten overs. Hasan Ali and Wahab Riaz picked a wicket each as well.
