The tournament, like last year, is played between six teams---India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. However, unlike the last edition, this time the tournament is being held in ODI format which would help all the sides, barring Nepal, to prepare for the ICC World Cup 2023, which is to be held in India later this year. The six teams in the tournament have been separated into two groups--Group A and B. Group A comprises of India, Pakistan and Nepal while Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan feature in Group B. Each team in a group will play against the other two sides in the group stage and the sides finishing in the top two places will move to the Super Four round, which will determine the finalists. Net Run Rate will come into play in case two teams finish the group stage with the same number of points.
