The Asia Cup 2018 is just seven days away. Six nations from the sub-continent will battle it out for the title. The teams are divided into two Groups A and B. The team had included three uncapped players in the squad- Sayed Sherzad, Munir Ahmad and Wafadar. However, as per the recent reports emerged online on the official website of the ICC, Wafadar has been ruled out of the tournament due to nerve depression in his back. The doctors have been advised him the rest of six weeks and Wafadar will be replaced by Yamin Ahmadzai, who has already in the squad as a reserve player. Time and again team Afghanistan has proved how fatal they could prove to be for an opponent as the team has defeated West Indies twice during the World Cup qualifier. Rashid Khan
The 19-year-old prodigy Rashid Khan is undoubtedly one of the best spinners of Afghanistan. Khan has also proved his prowess while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad earlier in the IPL 11. He went on to become the youngest player to snap 100 wickets in the ODIs. Hopes will be pinned up on Khan who has so far been one of the most consistent players for his national side.
Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman
Here’s another youngster from Afghanistan who made his mark in the IPL 2018 by playing for the Kings XI Punjab. Snapping 17 wickets in the World Cup qualifiers, Rahman was the highest wicket-taker along with Rashid Khan and Scotland’s Safyaan Sharif. He would be another player to watch out for!
Mohammad Nabi
Having played 101 ODI matches for Afghanistan, Mohammad Nabi is one of the most experienced player in the squad. Nabi has been the backbone of the side since 2010 and continues to be one of the vital members of the squad. The all-rounder has scored more than 2000 runs in the ODIs and would obviously want to give his best keeping in the mind the 2019 World Cup in England.
