Bangladesh have been poor when it comes to taking a call on DRS (Decision Review System). Last year, during the one-off Test against India, Bangladesh took what is tagged as the world review of all time. Mushfiqur Rahim, the then Test captain, opted for a DRS but only to find Indian captain Virat Kohli had actually middled the ball. And to make it worse, during Bangladesh’s tour of Sri Lanka last year, opening batsman Souyma Sarkar was bowled, and he tried to review it. That was bizarre.  Asia Cup 2018 Schedule in PDF for Free Download: Timetable With List of All Matches in IST Including India vs Pakistan Fixture.

And now in the ongoing Asia Cup 2018, Bangladesh continue to make blunders with the DRS. Sri Lanka were struggling at 69 for six and spinner Mehidy Hasan was operating. One of his deliveries came back into the left-handed batsman Thisara Perera. The ball actually hit Perera’s bat but the spinner had other thoughts. He felt it hit him on the pads and made his captain Mashrafe Mortaza believe in so.

The Bangladesh skipper then opted for DRS, but much to embarrassment, the replays confirmed that the ball never hit batsman’s pad. In fact, after thick under-edge from Perera’s bat, the ball went towards the backward point.  Asia Cup 2018 Points Table: Know Group A & B, Round of 4 Standings As India, Pakistan Begin Tournament As Favourites!

Bangladesh though had a great outing as they defeated Sri Lanka by 137 runs to open their Asia Cup 2018 campaign with a win. Thanks to Mushfiqur’s 144 Bangladesh posted 261 despite losing two wickets in the first over. After the partnership, Bangladesh again lost some wickets in succession. However, Mushfiqur kept holding the one end and took his side to a competitive total. In response, Sri Lankan batsmen struggled to get going and were bundled out for just 124 runs.
