Arjun Tendulkar Trains With Indian Cricket Team Ahead of IND vs IRE T20I Series, Coach Ravi Shastri Has 'Words of Wisdom' for Him

Arjun, who has been named in India's under-19 squad for the tour of Sri Lanka in July, is in England and is expected to return to the country soon.

Ahead of India vs Ireland T20I series, batting legend Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar trained with the national team. India’s head coach, Ravi Shastri was also seen offering some "words of wisdom" to the 18-year-old left-arm fast bowler. Arjun, who has been named in India's under-19 squad for the tour of Sri Lanka in July, is in England and is expected to return to the country soon. The youngster will undergo an U-19 camp at the National Cricket Academy under WV Raman and Sanath Kumar ahead of the tour of Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, Arjun received some valuable tips fro Shastri as was evident from BCCI’s Twitter post. "Words of wisdom from @RaviShastriOfc for young Arjun Tendulkar," the BCCI tweeted alongside a photograph of Shastri and Arjun. This is not the first time, Arjun has trained with the Indian cricket team.

He has previously bowled to the likes of Virat Kohli and Co in the nets at the Wankhede stadium. Last year, Arjun was also seen bowling to the England Test team. The fast-bowling all-rounder only been picked for the two four-day matches in Sri Lanka, and has not made the cut for the five-match Youth ODI squad, reports PTI.

The Indian team is currently on their UK tour and will take on Ireland and England. The Kohli-led side will first face Ireland in two-match T20I series, starting June 27. Following the Ireland tour, India will face England three T20Is, three ODIs, and five Tests.
