The son of Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun Tendulkar didn’t have a desiring start to his Youth International career, on Thursday, as he was dismissed for a duck in his very first innings. The incident happened during India vs Sri Lanka U-19 First Youth Test which is being held at Nondescripts Cricket Club, in Sri Lanka.
Arjun Tendulkar, who was playing his first ever Youth Test match, was dismissed by Shashika Dulshan for a nought in his debut Under-19 innings. Playing a defensive shot, Arjun was caught out at short-leg to a left-arm spin-bowler. During his short stay at the crease, the 18-year-old cricketer could only play 11 balls in his inning.

Not to forget, Sachin Tendulkar was out for a duck too, during his ODI debut match against Pakistan in the year 1989.

Earlier in the match, Arjun Tendulkar opened the bowling for India in the first innings. Tendulkar Jr, who was playing his first ever match, pulled out of his run-up while bowling the first ball. However, after settling down a bit, he came back took his maiden wicket in the form of Kamil Mishara, who was dismissed LBW.
Notably, Tendulkar Jr was dismissed on the 11th ball, whereas it took him only 12 balls to claim his first wicket. While bowling in the first innings, he finished the match with figures of 11-2-33-1.
India bundled out Sri Lankan team for 244 runs in the first innings. The pick of the bowlers was Ayush Badoni and Harsh Tyagi who picked four wickets each. In its reply, the Indian team scored a massive total of 589 runs, led by centuries from Atharwa Taide and Ayush Taide. In the second innings, the Sri Lankan team were playing on 122/1 after 35 overs.
