The Andhra Premier League (APL) 2024 will start from June 30, 2024 and will be played till July 13.  A total of 19 matches to be played in this edition of the APL between the six participant teams and will see 120 cricketers participating in it. Visakhapatnam will host 12 matches while seven will be held in Kadapa.

Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) held the auction for the upcoming edition on Thursday, May 16. Over 400 players registered themselves for the bidding process and were divided into three categories. The players in Category A had a base price of Rs 1 lakh. For Category B, the base price was set at Rs 50,000 and it was Rs 25,000 for Category C and D. The organisers picked seven young, emerging cricketers through Rising Stars trials. Each team retained at least seven players and traded a few before coming to the auction.

Among all the registered players, 40 were signed by the six participating teams. Nitish Kumar Reddy, who is currently plying his trade in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Sunrisers Hyderabad, acquired the highest bid, with Godavari Titans securing his service for Rs 15.6 lakhs. M Dheeraj Kumar and M Madhav Rayudu follow Reddy on the list of the most expensive players. The Uttarandhra Lions signed Dheeraj for Rs 5.5 lakhs while Madhav joined them for Rs 5 lakhs.
