Mentioning that Anushka wore heels while coming for the shoot, Kohli said, “She is tall and she was wearing heels and she was being told that I am not that tall, I am not 6 feet plus or something”. Kohli also revealed that he said an awkward joke after he saw her. “She walked in with heels and was looking taller than me and I was like didn’t you get a higher pair of heels”, the Indian skipper told Bensinger. However, his joke fell flat. “The first time I met her I cracked a joke immediately. I was very nervous and that’s why I cracked a joke because I didn’t know what to do. I was standing on sets and was being all nervous and jittery. Then she was like excuse me and then I was like no, I am just joking”, the top-ranked ODI batsman said.
Virat and Anushka dated each for few years before finally getting married on December 11, 2017 in Italy. The pair is among the most popular celebrities couple in India. Anushka last appeared in Sui Dhaaga movie in 2018. Kohli recently led India to T20I, ODI and Test victories against West Indies. He also became the most successful Indian captain in Tests with maximum 28 Test victories.
