121 against Sri Lanka on November 6, 2014
After Sri Lanka posted 274/8 while batting first against India at Ahmedabad in the 2nd ODI, Ambati Rayudu played a marvellous unbeaten inning of 121 to take India to victory by six wickets with 33 balls remaining. This was Rayudu's maiden ODI century in international cricket, as he followed up opener Shikhar Dhawan's 79-run knock in the match with his superb batting, scoring ten fours and four sixes.
59 against Sri Lanka on November 16, 2014
Rayudu followed up his maiden ODI century with another fabulous inning in the fifth ODI at Ranchi, where he made a crucial partnership of 136-run with Virat Kohli to whitewash Sri Lanka in the five-match ODI series. While chasing a 287-run target, Rayudu's innings of 59 runs were very crucial in the successful run-chase after both the openers Rohit Sharma (9) and Ajinkya Rahane (2) failed to perform in the match. Kohli scored unbeaten 139 runs in the match to bring victory for India by three wickets.
124* against Zimbabwe on July 10, 2015
During India tour of Zimbabwe in 2015, Rayudu scored his best ODI knock of 124 at Harare. During the first ODI of the three-match ODI series, the right-handed batsman scored unbeaten 124 batting at no. 3, and helped India to reach 255/6 in 50 Overs. The close-fought encounter saw India winning the match by 4 runs after hosts could only reach 251/7 in 50 overs. Rayudu took 133 balls for his knock and hampered 12 fours and one six in the match.
100 against West Indies on October 29, 2018
Last year in 2018, the right-handed batsman scored his third and last century of ODI career in a match against West Indies at Mumbai in 4th ODI of West Indies tour of India. Along with Rohit Sharma who smashed 162 off 137 balls, Rayudu hit a 100 off 81 balls before getting run-out. The match saw India bagging a victory by 224 runs.
90 against New Zealand on February 3, 2019
After India were poorly struggling at 4-18 in 9.3 overs while batting during India vs New Zealand 5th ODI at Wellington, Rayudu's 90-run innings came as a rescue. Rayudu made two brilliant partnership with Vijay Shankar and Kedar Jadhav in the match while losing out to hit a century. With the victory by 35 runs, India bagged the five-match ODI series 4-1. Rayudu also came into limelight after the match and became a strong contender for India's squad World Cup 2019, however, Vijay Shankar was later chosen instead of him.
This is quite a shocking retirement call to learn about as Rayudu is in the reserved squad of the Indian team for CWC 2019, and the tournament is currently not finished. His retirement announcement mid-way during the tournament reveals that the cricketer is unhappy for not getting a call as a replacement for injured Shikhar Dhawan and Bijay Shankar.
