After playing for England for about 12 years, Alastair Cook has decided to retire. On Monday, the English batsman said that he was playing his last test match at the Oval against India. Cut to today, needless to say, it was quite an emotional morning for his fans and teammates who have seen him take on the ground in the last match. Amidst all this, Team India decided to give him the guard of honour. Alastair Cook announces retirement 

Virat Kohli and company stood in a line and clapped as he moved past the ground. Keaton Jennings sneaked from the side of the visitors as they paid respects to the player. The official handle of England Cricket Board shared the video on their official handle. Check it out below:

The gesture impressed the netizens and team India earned praises from the Internet users. “Proud moment for a player when Indians gave standing ovations,” read a tweet.
