Rahane’s Rajasthan Royals reached the Qualifiers of the IPL 2018 but failed to seal a berth in the finals. RR mentor Shane Warne was disappointed with the team’s performance and slammed the batting line-up of the team. He wrote on Twitter, “What a disappointing end this is, wasted to many balls & didn’t take the game on in the middle. That game was there to win & the boys should have got over the line ! Very proud of the entire squad though as they tried their best ! Just hurts as that’s a game we should have won !” The team lost against KKR by 25 runs.
Talking about Ajinkya Rahane could not board the bus for the upcoming series against England. However, he said, this will give him more time to prepare himself. "It is important that you get time to prepare yourself and clarity is important when you know that you are not in ODI squad and you just going to play Test matches in England," Rahane said.
