In the recently concluded ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, India topped the league stage before losing to New Zealand in the semi-finals while the men in maroon had a disappointing campaign and they finished the tournament on the ninth place. The last time these two teams locked horns in a bilateral series was when West Indies visited India for a full-fledged tour in 2018. India came on top in the majority of matches while West Indies also showcased their ability in few encounters. Ahead of their upcoming series, here's a recap of how the two sides fared on the last tour.

2 Tests- India Won 2–0

India outplayed the calypso kings completely in the longest format of the game. Debutant Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant piled up mountains of run in both the matches. Also, the quality Indian bowling line up proved to be too much for the inexperienced West Indies team. As a result, India won the series by 2-0 and Prithvi Shaw was the man of the series.

5 ODIs- India Won 3–1

After the one-sided victory in Tests, India continued their stellar run in the limited over formats as well. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli made a mockery of the Windies bowlers throughout the series. However, the visitors tried their best and put up a good fight with young stars like Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer helping West Indies to a solitary victory 3rd ODI. India eventually claimed the ODI series 3-1 and skipper Virat Kohli was adjudged as the man of the series.

3 T20Is- India Won 3–0

West Indies were expected to do well in Twenty20, their favourite format after disappointing results in ODIs and Tests but the result was no different. India won the first two matches easily but the last encounter went to the wire, eventually won by the Men in blue. India conquered the T20 series by 3-0 and Kuldeep Yadav was adjudged the Man of the Series.

The Indian Cricket Team have performed decently in the recent tours and are expected to continue it against West Indies. As for Jason Holder-led side, they will bank on the young stars to rise up to the occasion. West Indies during their last bilateral series at home, defeated the mighty Englishmen in Tests and managed a tie in ODIs. One can expect an exciting contest when the two sides meet.
