England’s Adil Rashid pulled off a sensational run-out against Pakistan in the fifth and last One-Day International (ODI) at Headingley in Leeds. The run out resulted in a batting collapse for Pakistan. After receiving the throw at non-striker’s end, Rashid produced no-look run out to send Babar Azam back to the dressing room. The dismissal proved to be a game-changing as Babar and Sarfraz were in the middle of an important partnership. Pakistan lost three wickets for just six runs in chase of mammoth 352 and then Babar and Sarfraz added 146 runs for the fourth wicket.

The duo looked in control and set to take Pakistan close to the target but Rashid’s incredible run-out proved disastrous for the visitors. Pakistan were eventually bowled out for 297 runs and thus lost the match by 54 runs. And the five-match series by 4-0 as the first ODI between the two sides was washed out due to the rain. Meanwhile, England and Pakistan will now begin preparations for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, which begins on May 30. Ahead of the tournament proper, the teams will play two warm-up matches each.
