Abhimanyu Mithun created a unique record on his birthday. The Karnataka pacer, who turned 30 on October 25, 2019 (Friday), celebrated his birthday with the best gift ever to himself. Mithun took a hat-trick in the final over of Tamil Nadu’s innings in the 2019-20 Vijay Hazare Trophy final and became only the second bowler and first-ever Indian to achieve a hat-trick on his birthday. The birthday boy is also the first Karnataka bowler to achieve the feat in Vijay Hazare Trophy final and is also only second Indian bowler – after Murali Karthik – to take a hat-trick in both the Ranji Trophy and Vjiay Hazare. Twitter congratulated Mithun for his record and also wished him a happy birthday. Abhimanyu Mithun Picks Hat-Trick During Vijay Hazare Trophy Final on His 30th Birthday, Becomes 1st Karnataka Bowler to Achieve Rare Feat (Watch Video).

Peter Siddle was the first cricketer in international cricket to reach the milestone. He achieved it in the 2010 Ashes Test series on his 26th birthday. Siddle dismissed Alastair Cook, Matt Prior and Stuart Broad to reach his milestone. Meanwhile, Mithun removed Shahrukh Khan, M Mohammed and Murugan Ashwin to reach his feat. Mithun reached the milestone in the final over of Tamil Nadu’s innings after Karanatak captain Manish Pandey had won the toss and opted to bat first.

Mithun also completed a five-wicket haul in the final of 2019-20 Vijay Hazare. Mithun first dismissed Murali Vijay for a two-ball duck in the first over the game and then returned to have Vijay Shankar caught at the boundary before taking three of three in the final delivery. His figures of 5/34 helped Karanatak bowl-out a star-studded Tamil Nadu for just 252 runs.
