Abdul Qadir Dies of Cardiac Arrest in Lahore; Shoaib Akhtar, Shahid Afridi & Other Cricketers Pay Respect To Former Pakistan Spinner
Pakistan’s former spinner Abdul Qadir passed away earlier today in Lahore due to cardiac arrest. He was 63 years old and his son confirmed the news of his death. The former star was shifted to Services Hospital after the heart attack but he could not survive. He was regarded as one of the best leg-spinners of his time, taking 236 wickets in 67 Test matches and 132 wickets in just 104 One Day Internationals (ODIs)

Qadir served as the chief selector for the Pakistan Cricket Board and match commentator too.
No sooner the news of his demise broke out, condolatory messages started pouring in. Mohammad Yousaf also tweeted about the demise of Abdul Qadir and wrote, “My heart goes out to the family of our legend Abdul Qadir Bhai, nation will miss him. May Allah give him the highest level of Jannat Ameen.”

Qadir played his last international Test against West Indies in Lahore on Dec 6, 1990, while his last ODI was against Sri Lanka in Sharjah on Nov 2, 1993. He also served the chief selector of Pakistan team and a commentator too.
