Aaron Finch brought up his 14th ODI century in style during Australia’s ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match against Sri Lanka. The Australian captain brought up the century in 96 deliveries, which included eight fours and four gigantic sixes. Finch, who has been in fine form at CWC2019 with three half-centuries already to his name, is also the leading run scorer in the tournament. He leads the run-scoring charts with 290 runs from five matches. Fellow opener and Australian teammate David Warner is second on the list with 281 runs from the same number of games. Finch’s is also the second Australian batsman to score a century at CWC 2019 after Warner, who smashed a match-winning 107 runs against Pakistan in the previous match.

He also leads the six-hitting charts with 12 sixes to his name in five matches. Jos Buttler is second in the list and has managed only half of what Finch has smashed so far.

The five-time champions and current title holders Australia are third in the points table with three victories and a defeat in their past four matches. They have six points in the standings, which is led by New Zealand (7 points) followed by hosts England (6 points) on second.

Australia’s skipper has been in top form in the ICC tournament with scores of 82 and 66 against Pakistan and Afghanistan respectively. Finch was dismissed for 36 runs against India, while he managed a single digit score against the West Indies. His century has put Australia in a commanding position against the Lankans with 194 runs already on board after 35 overs.
