Indian cricket fraternity paid tributes to the martyrs of Mumbai 26/11 terror attack. Virat Kohli, Virender Sehwag, Suresh Raina, Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara were among cricketers to salute the policemen who lost their lives in Mumbai Terror Attack in 2008 to save others.

Indian cricket fraternity paid tributes to the martyrs of  26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Virat Kohli, Virender Sehwag, Suresh Raina, Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara were among cricketers to salute the policemen who lost their lives in Mumbai Terror Attack in 2008 to save others. They also paid tributes to the victims who lost their lives during the brutal attack on Mumbai city. On November 26, 2008, 10 Pakistani terrorists attacked Mumbai and killed 166 people. Indian skipper Virat Kohli remembered the deadly incident during which innocent civilians were killed. “Remembering the bravehearts and the innocent civilians who lost their lives during the 26/11 attacks. Gone but never forgotten”, he wrote on Twitter.

“Remembering our brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our safety. Saluting the heroes of our nation on this day”, Shikhar Dhawan posted on the microblogging platform.

Suresh Raina shared photos of all the late brave men on his Twitter profile and tweeted, “26/11 took innocent lives as it gave birth to unsung heroes and martyrs who continue to inspire us with their valour. My salute to those who gave up their lives to protect us. We will always remember you fondly”.

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag retweeted a photo of late Tukaram Omble, a policeman who lost his life in the attacks. India's Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara made a silent prayer for those who lost their lives saying "A silent prayer for those who lost their lives untimely on 26/11 #MumbaiTerrorAttack and the brave heroes who sacrificed their life to protect us". All the 10 Pakistani terrorists, who carried weapons like AK-47, RDX, IEDs and grenades to attack the financial capital of India, were killed by the National Security Guards (NSG). Ajmal Amir Kasab was caught alive by Army and sentenced to death. He was prisoned in Yerwada Central Jail in Pune and hanged to death in 2012.

Hafiz Saeed, the chief of Pakistan-based terror organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (Jama'at-ud-Da'wah) was the mastermind behind the attack. This was revealed in further investigations. Operation Black Tornado was launched by Indian Army to neutralise the terrorists.
