India opened its medal tally in spectacular fashion with Mirabai Chanu winning gold, Sanket Sargar and Bindyarani Devi silver and Gururaja Poojary bronze. All these four medals came from weightlifting events.

The Indian Mixed Relay Team were not able to get among the medal positions as they finished 10th in the finals. The team finished over 15 seconds behind winners England.
Popy Hazarika had a tough start to her 59kh Weightlifting final as she recorded 81kg in the snatch event. She failed to execute her second and third attempts in the event. The Indian lifter is currently seventh on the leaderboard but can catch up to the medal positions in Clean & Jerk.
Ronaldo and David Beckham fell short of medals in Men's Sprint at CWG 2022. David Beckham exited in qualifying while Ronaldo was unable to advance from the pre-quarterfinal stage.

India would have a lot of opportunities to add more to the medal tally after winning four medals on Day 2, all of them coming from weightlifting. Nikhat Zareen and Jeremy Lalrinnunga will compete in their respective weightlifting finals while Yogeshwar Singh in action in the men's gymnastics all-round final.
The Indian women's cricket team will also be in action against archrivals Pakistan and so would the men's hockey team, with their opponents being Ghana. An action-packed day awaits India on Sunday.

The Commonwealth Games 2022 rolls onto its third day and all the action keeps getting more exciting and intense. India have had considerable success on the second day of the competition with four medals, all coming from weightlifting events. Day 2 of the competition saw India open their medal tally with a bang, winning all four medals coming in weightlifting events. First, it was Sanket Sargar, who battled an injury to clinch silver and he was followed by Gururaja Poojary, who won bronze. India's moment of crowning glory was when Mirabai Chanu won the gold medal in a dominant fashion and lastly, it was Bindyarani Devi, who made her presence felt with a silver.
