It was another very fruitful day for India at the Commonwealth Games 2022, Two medals in track and field athletics came from Priyanka Goswami and Avinash Sable and later, the wrestlers continued their winning spree with six medals. Sonalben Patel and Mohammad Hussamuddin bagged bronze medals in their respective events. While Patel won her bronze in the Women's Singles Classes 3-5 para table tennis event, Hussamuddin secured a podium finish in men's 57kg boxing event.

The Indian men's hockey team beat South Africa 3-2 to enter the final at the Commonwealth Games 2022 on Saturday. With this, India secured a medal in the men's hockey event. 

Deepak Nehra beat Pakistan's Tayab Raza 10-2 to win bronze medal in men's 97kg freestyle wrestling event on Saturday. He bagged India's sixth wrestling of the day at CWG 2022.

Pooja Sihag won the bronze medal for India in the women's 76kg freestyle category event in wrestling. She beat Australia's Naomi de Bruine 11-0 to win the bronze.

Young wrestler Naveen won the gold medal on his CWG debut in the men's freestyle 74kg wrestling event on Saturday, August 6. He beat Pakistan's Muhammad Sharif Tahir to bag the top prize. 

Vinesh Phogat became the first Indian woman to win three consecutive gold medals for in Commonwealth Games. She defeated Sri Lanka's Chamodya Keshani to win all her matches in CWG 2022.

Ravi Kumar Dahiya walked away with a gold medal in men's freestyle 57kg wrestling event at the Commonwealth Games 2022 on Saturday, August 6. He beat Nigeria's Ebikewenimo Welson to win the top prize. This was India's 10th gold in CWG 2022 so far.

Pooja Gehlot bagged a bronze medal in the women's 50kg freestyle wrestling event. She beat Christelle Lemofack Letchidjio of Scotland to clinch the secure a podium finish.

Sreeja Akula and Reeth Tennison were beaten in the women's doubles table tennis quarterfinal. The duo lost to Singapore's Wong Xin Ru and Zhou Jingyi of Singapore 14-16, 11-13, 11-6, 8-11.

Manika Batra will leave Birmingham without a medal as she lost the women's doubles table tennis quarterfinal alongside Diya Chitale. Batra and Chitale were defeated 3-1 by the Welsh pair of Charlotte Carey and Anna Hursey.

Jaismine Lamboriya won a bronze medal in the women's 60kg boxing event at the Commonwealth Games 2022 on Saturday, August 6. This was India's first medal in boxing at the Commonwealth Games 2022. 

Nikhat Zareen entered the final of women's light flyweight boxing event with a dominant performance at the Commonwealth Games 2022 on Saturday, August 6. Zareen got the better of England's Savannah Alfia Stubley 5-0.

The Indian women's cricket team entered the final of Commonwealth Games 2022 with a thrilling win over England in the semifinal on Saturday, August 6. With this win, India have assured atleast a silver medal in the maiden women's cricket event at the Commonwealth Games.

Sharath Kamal and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran have entered the table tennis men's doubles final at the Commonwealth Games 2022 on Saturday. The duo beat 

PV Sindhu continued her fine form as he entered the semifinals of the women's badminton event at the Commonwealth Games 2022 on Saturday, August 6. Sindhu defeated Malaysia's Jin Wei Goh 19-21, 21-14, 21-18 to enter the last four.

Ravi Kumar Dahiya confirmed another medal for India as he beat Pakistan's Asad Ali to enter the men's wrestling 57kg final. He became the second wrestler for India on Saturday to confirm a podium finish.
