Indian badminton players PV Sindhu defeated Nozomi Okuhara to win the final of BWF World Championships 2019. The Indian shuttler defeated the Japanese player in straight sets to bag the title. With 21-7, 21-7 score in two sets, Sindhu was far more powerful and dominating than her opponent. The victory thrilled Indian fans and they were not behind to congratulate India’s star shuttler. Fans took to social media and hailed the 24 -year-old badminton icon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also took to Twitter to congratulate the Indian sportswoman.
Sindhu also became the first Indian to bag Gold in World championships in the sport of Badminton. After Badminton Association of India (BAI) tweeted about her victory on their official Twitter account, lots of people started hailing the Indian sportswoman. Sindhu, who was leading the head-to-head clash against Okuhara 8-7 before the match, has now has defeated the Japanese player four times in last five encounters. BWF World championships 2019 final saw Sindhu taking the match on her side in 36 minutes. Sindhu was runner up in last two editions of World Championships. Earlier in the semis, PV Sindhu defeated China's Chen Yu Fei 21-7, 21-14 on Saturday to enter the finals. Sindhu brushed off the challenge in straight sets within 39 minutes.
